Dear London,
Today you are five months old! Another month has flown by, and you continue to grow up so much as each month passes. We had quite a busy month with Grandma Schmitt's visit, and have been spending lots of time with our wonderful new friends and neighbors.
Despite our busy month, that certainly didn't stop you from hitting several big milestones in between our busy days. You can now roll from your back onto your tummy, and actually prefer to be on your tummy the majority of the time now. You especially love to roll over and play with your toys. You've come quite a long way from those early tummy time days ;) In addition to rolling over, you also learned how to sit up on your own this month! While you're still perfecting your balance, you are now able to sit up without support for a few minutes at a time.
You've also been enjoying playing in your exersaucer lately. Noah loves to join in on the fun, and almost always plays right along with you while you're in the exersaucer. Speaking of Noah, your love for your big brother continues to grow each day. You are constantly looking around the room for him, and will almost always stop crying/fussing when he comes into view. I love that you look up to him already. Noah is slowly but surely learning to share with you, and I can see the bond starting to form between the two of you. One of my favorite things about being a Mommy is seeing you two interact. I know with time, your bond will only continue to grow. My biggest prayer is that you two grow up to be best friends for life.
For being such a sleepy little newborn, you have certainly woken up these past few months and have changed your tune on sleeping ;) Oh, sweet girl, you do not care for sleeping very much. We have spent this last month working on improving your nighttime sleep, as well as nap time. A few weeks ago, you started napping in your crib. The first few days were a rough transition, but within a week or so, you started to get more comfortable in your crib, and are actually doing quite well with naps right now. We are still working on nighttime sleep, but the good news is that you have dropped back down to just one nightly feeding, usually between 2-3am. I think it's safe to say that we have overcome the "4 month sleep regression" of last month, and are hopefully on our way to better sleep in the near future.
On a fun and silly note, Daddy and I have nicknamed you "Cheekers" for your adorable, pinch-able baby cheeks ;) We just can't get enough of that sweet face of yours. We love you to the moon and back, baby girl.
Until next time, here are some of my favorite photos from your 5th month.
