Dear Noah,
Today you are 8 months old, and what an exciting month it's been! Before we get to all of the fun milestones, I first have to tell you that you are now the proud owner of not one, but TWO teeth :) Your 2nd tooth came in a few days after you turned 7 months. You look so darn cute with your new pearly whites! SO much has happened this month with your development, so this letter might be a tad bit longer than usual. So, let's get started!
The day after you turned 7 months you surprised Mommy by sitting up all on your own in your crib during nap time. You've been such a good sitter since about 4.5 months old, but up until now, you could only sit up when Mommy or Daddy actually put you into a seated position. Naturally, it's been a lot of fun for you to sit up all on your own whenever you feel like it now! And let me tell you, you LOVE to sit up! With all of the excitement from your new accomplishment, you had a little bit of trouble with naps for a few weeks, but luckily, you have since gone back to your usual daytime naps :)
This month you also started lunging forward into a crawling position and started getting up on all fours, too! That lasted just a few days before you took off crawling...well, army crawling mixed with a wobbly hand + knee crawl, but you're officially on the move nonetheless ;) Like a typical boy who is following in his Daddy's footsteps with a love for electronics, the first time you crawled you went after Mommy's laptop power cord. Clearly, you are most intrigued by things you are not supposed to have, like lotion bottles, cellphones, cords, the fireplace, puppy's food, and pretty much any other unsafe-for-baby item we have around the house ;) Looks like it's time to get serious about baby-proofing!
In addition to crawling, you have a new-found love for standing. These days, you love standing outside of your exersaucer and will stand pretty much anywhere, whether it's at your activity table, your toy farm, the couch, or even the coffee table (you love reaching for those TV remotes!). You've gotten pretty good at standing over these last few weeks, and I'm sure it's just a matter of time before you start cruising on the furniture.
In the midst of all this excitement, we also celebrated Easter this month. Since it was such a short holiday weekend, we decided to stay home and have our own mini Easter celebration with just you, me, and Daddy. It was perfect. We took you to your first Easter mass and then celebrated with brunch at a local restaurant. You got your very first Easter basket with lots of fun goodies, including a froggy swimming pool, which we will hopefully be able to try out in another month or so!
As if the sitting, crawling, and standing wasn't enough for one month, you also started saying "mama" a few weeks ago! Even though it's not quite an intentional "mama" just yet, we're still counting it as your 1st word ;)
Wow, just recapping this month has made me realize how much you've grown up from months 7 to 8! Speaking of growing up, you are now enjoying 3 meals of solids/day. You tried quite a few new foods this month including Greek yogurt, chicken, turkey, and you even got a taste of your first finger food, Puffs! It was a love/hate relationship (okay, mostly hate) between you and the Puffs at first, but now you love them so much you actually start squealing with excitement when you see the Puffs container. Mommy is excited to try more finger foods with you this upcoming month!
I can hardly believe how fast this month has gone by, and how much you've accomplished in just 30 short days! I have to be honest and say that this age you are at right now is probably my most favorite thus far. It is beyond amazing watching you learn and grow on a daily basis. We've got lots of fun things coming up next month, including a trip to NC to visit Mommy's side of the family, your Baptism, and your first swim lesson!
Until next time, here are some of my favorite snapshots from your eighth month.
Happy Easter!

I love you,
